Dear Artist,
As part of its 25-year celebrations WYA will be holding an art exhibition in a prominent city centre gallery in August. We would very much like you to be involved.
WYA has boxes of archival material including props, costumes, receipts, newspaper clippings, letters sent and received about funding, scribbled notes on set and costume design, photos of workshops and performances....the list is endless.
We would like these artefacts to form the basis of the exhibition and for artists to use some aspect of these as a loose starting point for new work. In this way all the exhibited work will have a common theme and artists' work could possibly be shown side by side with the original object that inspired it.
Work can take the form of any medium, from drawing and painting to sculpture, photography and video art/installation.
All work will remain the property of the artist, with the option of it being offered for sale, with a small percentage of the price to be donated to WYA. The exhibition will simply help to raise awareness of the work WYA have done over the last 25 years and continue to do today. Promotion and advertising of the exhibition will be undertaken by WYA and will therefore be a good way to raise the profile of the artists involved.
The boxes of archival material are available to view at WYA's office's in the The Arch, Barrack Street and a selection will also be available to view on the WYA website and through its Facebook page.
If you would like to be involved pleased contact
so we can keep you informed of any future developments and deadlines.
Also feel free to contacting me directly on this at 086-1759188.
